Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree and 3 years’ related experience; or a Bachelor’s degree and 6 years’ related experience
  • Degree in Social Science, Communication, Public Health or a related field
  • Training in research methods, including both qualitative and quantitative study design, data collection, and analysis
  • Experience using analytic software such as SPSS, SAS, NVivo, Atlas.ti
  • Demonstrated experience designing and developing digital products, campaigns, and/or interventions
  • Training and experience applying social and behavior change theory to inform the development of communication strategy and communication-based solutions
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to effectively work in multidisciplinary teams that may include subject matter experts, data scientists, designers, web developers and outside vendors
  • Ability to support multiple projects in a fast paced work environment
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Approaches situations with a growth mindset 
  • To qualify, applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and should not require sponsorship for employment visa status, now or in the future
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Microsoft Access and/or EndNote
  • Experience with web design strategies and web/mobile development tools including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python, Swift
  • Experience with social media listening (e.g., Crimson Hexagon or similar)
  • Experience monitoring, analyzing and reporting web and social media metrics
  • Project management experience, particularly on federally funded projects
  • Multicultural or bilingual communication skills

Physical and mental demands of this role include those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, as outlined above.  Examples include:  remaining in a stationary position for long periods of time; operating a computer and other office machinery; thinking, learning, and concentrating effectively and frequently communicating with other people, both within RTI and outside of RTI; frequently moving about inside and travel between offices and laboratories; frequently conducting laboratory site inspections (if applicable), ability to handle the stress associated in meeting frequent, multiple and tight deadlines, ability to work in excess of 40 hours per week as workload and deadlines may require, consistent demonstration of mental stability and ability to have regular, reliable and predictable attendance.
