Minimum Requirements:
Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of relevant professional experience or Master’s degree with 6+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • Experience with U.S. Government contracting and cost accounting preferred but not required. 

Skills & Abilities:

  • Able to build, understand and interpret complex financial models and analyses.
  • Proven ability to communicate significant issues and insights to leadership confidently and professionally. Actively observes and considers the environment to communicate strategically and achieve specific objectives.
  • Critical thinking and problem solving.
  • Experience using varied communication methods (including use of visuals and graphs) to promote dialogue and develop shared understanding in a timely manner. 
  • Consistently applied various influencing styles to overcome resistance and secure support for ideas and initiatives. 
  • Actively listens to support staff, peers, and superiors to better understand issues and situations and to gain important insights to enable growth.
  • Relied upon to exercise consistent sound judgment on decisions that will have long-term effect on the Institute’s success. Demonstrated decisiveness, independence, and the ability to challenge the status quo. 
  • Demonstrated learning agility and ability to navigate the inter-dependencies of RTI stakeholders and processes.
  • Collaborative and demonstrates an attitude and approach of “One Team”.
  • Provides specific, constructive and timely feedback to staff in order to improve performance.


Physical and mental demands of this role include those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, as outlined above.  Examples include:  remaining in a stationary position for long periods of time; operating a computer and other office machinery; thinking, learning, and concentrating effectively and frequently communicating with other people, both within RTI and outside of RTI; frequently moving about inside and travel between offices and laboratories; frequently conducting laboratory site inspections (if applicable), ability to handle the stress associated in meeting frequent, multiple and tight deadlines, ability to work in excess of 40 hours per week as workload and deadlines may require, consistent demonstration of mental stability and ability to have regular, reliable and predictable attendance.
