Job Summary

RTI International is currently seeking a Manager of analytics with Azure Cloud experience to join the Enterprise Data & Analytics team within Global Technology Solutions at RTI International.  RTI International is an independent, nonprofit research institute dedicated to improving the human condition headquartered in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina.  The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of and hands‐on experience with creating Azure cloud data warehouse and data lake that is performant and cost optimized.  Experience with AI/ML and integrating algorithms into reporting is preferred.

 

Typical duties for this position will include but are not limited to:

  • As a Manager in enterprise data analytics team, you will be responsible for driving next generation data & analytics solution development using Azure Cloud.
  • Responsible for modern cloud Data Warehouse, Azure Data Lake, Master and Reference Data Management, Data Catalog and Data Quality implementation.
  • Help define modern data warehouse project strategy, architecture, design and processes along with peers.
  • Manage and support the activities of team & 3rd party providers, to build modern, cloud optimized, performant data and analytics solution that is scalable, robust and extensible.
  • Co-ordinate with internal and external team (Architect and Developers) to define requirements.
  • Responsible for managing a team of developers and ensure all related work items are allocated and worked upon.
  • Analyze problems and figure out the most suitable technical, system or configuration solutions.
  • Lead system integration testing (SIT) and user acceptance testing (UAT) activities to validate business and technical requirements are met during the project delivery process.
  • Maintain extensive documentation - user guide, process & data flow charts, ER diagrams and workflows.
  • Along with the Data architect, define standards and best practices for data ingestion, data cleansing, modeling, queries and data quality.
  • Manage day-to-day implementation work and escalate issues as they arise to management and provide status updates.
  • Collaborate with other teams across RTI and vendor teams as necessary to ensure customer needs are met.
  • Recruit, select, hire, develop and evaluate performance of personnel to ensure all departmental goals are met.
  • Cross train team members to build additional capacity to support and enhance enterprise data warehouse.
  • Stay current on cloud tech trends and recommend products and services to meet business needs
  • Manage other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s level degree in a related field plus 10 years of experience 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Stack (SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS), Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory & Pipelines, Data Pipelines, Splunk, Azure Data Lake, Power BI Shared Datasets
  • Must understand Power BI Desktop/Azure and DAX.
  • Experience in optimizing cloud implementation with focus on cost, performance, flexibility, and standardization
  • Experience in end-to-end implementation of Data Warehouse projects.
