Required Skills and Qualifications:
 
Education and Experience
 
  • Master's degree in agriculture, agribusiness, business administration, economics or a similar field, with at least 9 years of relevant professional experience, or bachelor’s degree with 12 years of experience.

  • Previous experience in managing West African donor-funded projects of similar size and complexity, Niger experience preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience in value chain development activities of market systems.

  • Strong knowledge of USG rules and regulations (especially USAID).

 
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
 
  • Extensive technical expertise in one or more of the following: private sector engagement, economic growth, project operations, or resilience.

  • Reputation for professional excellence including outstanding strategic planning and management skills (as evidenced by references and achievements.)

  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills with evidence of ability to establish strong working relationships with diverse stakeholders.

  • Ability to resolve sensitive and complicated work issues with senior high-level country counterparts, donor representatives, and senior-level staff.

  • Verbal and written fluency in French and English, along with strong communications, interpersonal, and presentation skills, required.

Position is contingent upon award and funding.
