Master’s degree and 6 years of experience or Bachelor’s Degree and 10 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

Knowledge of the local labor law in South Africa and the other designated countries; Working knowledge of and experience in local labor and employment laws and legal resources.

Strong ability for partnership and collaboration.
Second language (French and English) required.
Ability to travel as part of their role.
Excellent knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines under pressure
Ability to multi-task
Ability to work independently and within matrix project and program teams

Experience working on large-scale, multi-country project(s)
Previous experience as an HR manager for USAID funded project(s)
Knowledge of local labor laws across multiple sub-Saharan Africa countries, specifically Cameroon, Cote D’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Niger, Rwanda, Senegal, Somalia and Uganda a plus

Operating a computer and other office machinery
Thinking, learning, and concentrating effectively and frequently communicating with other people, both within RTI and outside of RTI, as well as across countries in sub-Saharan Africa
Ability to handle the stress associated in meeting frequent, multiple and tight deadlines
Ability to travel to countries in sub-Saharan Africa as required
Ability to work in excess of 40 hours per week as workload and deadlines may require
Ability to have regular, reliable and predictable attendance
