INVESTMENT AND FINANCE COORDINATOR(Progam Coordinator)

Project Description

RTI International is an independent, nonprofit research institute providing research, development, and technical services to government and commercial clients worldwide. The Food Security and Agriculture division within the International Development Group is implementing the USAID-funded Feed the Future Facilitate Investment Required For Sustainable ExporT (FTF FIRST) activity in Rwanda. FTF FIRST is a five-year program that will work with and through the Government of Rwanda (GOR) to boost economic growth by increasing export of the country’s high-value agricultural crops such as coffee, tea, fresh beans, peppers, and chili.

Job Summary:

  • The Investment and Finance Coordinator is responsible for supporting local actors to attract, mobilize, and direct public and private financing resources and investments towards increased agriculture and food exports.
  • The Investment and Finance Coordinator reports to the Senior Investment Advisor.

Essential Duties:  

  • Support design, coordination, and implementation of activities under Objective 2.
  • Support Senior Investment Advisor to oversee investment roadmap and strategy, initial matchmaking, and quick-win pipeline identification.
  • Support Senior Investment Advisor to identify and address gaps in various stages of investment promotion.
  • Coordinate capacity-building support and technical assistance to private sector actors working on driving investment in the agriculture export sector.
  • Support engagement with the Rwandan financial services sector, including development of financing and/or risk mitigation instruments (e.g., commercial loans, blended finance vehicles, guarantee programs, and investment funds).
  • Coordinate the capacity building of local financial services providers.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with other technical and operational team members to successfully execute program activities.
  • Contribute to program deliverables (e.g., workplans, quarterly reports), providing input related to Objective 2.
  • In collaboration with the MEL team, ensure best practices and lessons learned related to Objective 2  are captured and disseminated across the project.

Minimum Required Education & Experience

  • Master’s degree and one year of experience or Bachelor’s degree and three years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of financial advisory services, investment readiness, financial modeling, and private sector capacity development preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and facilitate collaborative learning, including with investors, agribusinesses, and Government of Rwanda counterparts.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills with fluency in English required.
