Required Skills and Qualifications
 
The successful applicant will have experience in working in complex and multi-year programs that focus on strengthening civil society. In particular, the ideal candidate will possess experience in working with and strengthening the institutional capacity of NGOs/CSOs within the ESC region in a broad range of operational and managerial areas. She/he will be results-driven, have exceptional communication skills, and will be a team player capable of working with a diverse type of NGOs/CSOs across different cross-cultural settings. She/he will be collaborative and will ensure that capacity development support is demand-driven but also results oriented. She/he will be able to apply best practices but also be able to think outside of the box and adopt non-traditional approaches that can be adapted to the unique environments where they will be employed. The candidate will also be extremely detail oriented and able to multi-task and work under tight deadlines and resources.
 
Required skills also include:
 
  • Master’s degree in social studies, business administration, finance or related field.
  • At least 1 year of experience in strengthening the managerial and administrative capacities of NGOs/CSOs, preferably within the ESC region.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with a variety of NGO types throughout the ESC, particularly from diverse backgrounds and cultures from other countries.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to coach and mentor NGOs/CSOs in a collaborative fashion.
  • Experience building capacity or training in financial management, resource mobilization strongly preferred.
  • Experience in working on a USAID-funded project is highly desirable.
