Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, international relations, political science, business administration, or a related field plus a minimum three (3) years of work experience, including the following:  
    • Experience managing or contributing to social media profiles and activities on behalf of a business or nonprofit organization;
    • Experience using email marketing automation tools such as Constant Contact or Pardot to disseminate content;
  • Experience within international development sector is a plus.   
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately and concisely convey complex and technical information;
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively and establish strong working relationships with key colleagues within IDG and other departments across RTI;
  • Excellent oral and written English language communication skills;
  • Strong understanding of how to link communications activities to business strategy and goals;
  • Self-starter, able to think creatively and work independently;
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment and carry out multiple activities and projects with competing deadlines;
  • Proficiency with: creative design applications (including but not limited to Adobe Creative Suite) and Microsoft Office (specifically: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook);
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 15 percent time.
