RTI Health Solutions (RTI-HS) is seeking a Manchester-based Project Manager to join our centralized Project Management Office. In this role you will join our team as an operational Project Manager supporting a range of health economic, outcomes research, and pharmacoepidemiology projects for pharmaceutical and life science clients.


You will support the technical lead scientists in delivering the work by managing the budget, scope, timeline, contracts, communication, quality review process, and staffing.  In addition, you will help identify opportunities for process improvement and potentially develop tools and training for sharing improved approaches.


RTI-HS, a business unit of RTI International, is one of the largest and longest established health outcomes research organisations, providing health care consulting and research expertise to support decision making for pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device products across the development and marketing lifecycle.


Responsibilities:
• Manage non-technical aspects of health economics, outcomes, epidemiological, and market access projects for pharmaceutical and other life science clients.
• Create and maintain project budget, including regularly forecasting labour hours and expenses.
• Create and maintain project timelines and address changes.
• Organise and lead internal and external project kickoff and regular status meetings with our internal teams and our clients.
• Identify changes in project plans and scope and develop and propose solutions for managing these changes.
• Manage ethics and institutional review board (IRB) submissions.
• Assist in proposal development, including staffing, timeline, budgeting, developing work breakdown structure, and identifying subcontractors as needed.
• Manage quality-assurance activities for individual projects, including scheduling and documenting senior review, quality control of data, and editing.
• Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Support the project review reporting progress.

 

 

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's level degree.
• Experience supporting, managing, or leading scientific research projects, especially in health-related fields.
• Ability to generally understand statistics and a variety of scientific methodologies.
• Demonstrated skills developing timelines, flowcharts, workplans, tracking tools, spreadsheets, and other elements of project plans using commonly available software tools (e.g. Excel, Visio, or Microsoft Project). Advanced Excel skills are a plus.
• Experience communicating with executive-level internal management and high-level clients with scientific backgrounds, including developing agendas, developing minutes and actions, and moderating meetings and PowerPoint presentations.


Preferred Skills:
• Experience planning and budgeting resources for research projects. Experience with Deltek Vision or equivalent ERP system is relevant.
• Knowledge of ethics committee requirements and processes in the United States and the European Union, knowledge of HIPAA/GDPR Privacy Rules.
• Demonstrated ability to independently prioritize efforts and manage own time constraints.
• Demonstrated ability to assert leadership while also working within and supporting a well-functioning team environment.
