RTI International (RTI) is one of the world's leading research institutes, dedicated to improving the human condition by turning knowledge into practice. Our staff of more than 3,700 provides research and technical services to governments and businesses in more than 75 countries in the areas of health and pharmaceuticals, education and training, surveys and statistics, advanced technology, international development, economic and social policy, energy and the environment, and laboratory testing and chemical analysis.


The Biostatistics and Epidemiology Division of RTI has an opening for a Research Public Health Analyst. Candidates should have technical experience in design, implementation, support, and analyses of epidemiological and/or clinical studies. 
The analyst will have access to colleagues with expertise in infectious and chronic diseases, environmental health, and modeling who mentor staff to extend their skill set. Most work is accomplished by interdisciplinary teams, promoting innovation and collaboration.  The preferred location for this position is the Research Triangle Park, NC; Washington, DC; or Rockville, MD, but other locations and telecommuting can be considered for appropriately qualified candidates.


Responsibilities to include, but not limited to:
•    Provide technical support to epidemiological and clinical research projects
•    Contribute to study design, protocol development, study implementation, quality control, preliminary and final data analysis/interpretation, and presentation of study results 
•    Collaborate with data management team to develop and implement data collection and management strategies
•    Perform literature reviews and syntheses 
•    Prepare and review IRB materials for the RTI IRB
•    Contribute to and/or prepare portions of technical memoranda, reports, and presentations
•    Manage projects, data, timelines, correspondence, and communications 
•    Coordinate and facilitate meetings
 

Required Education/Experience:
•    Master’s degree in epidemiology, public health, nursing, medicine, clinical research, or other health-related field
•    Minimum of 5 years related experience
•    Strong knowledge of epidemiologic methods including study design (cross-sectional, cohort, case-cohort, case-control, and randomized designs), study conduct, critical operational monitoring, and data analysis and interpretation      
•    Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
•    Highly organized with the ability to complete multiple tasks and deliverables within tight timeframes and during periods with competing priorities
•    Ability to work successfully and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams (e.g., data managers, statisticians, and principal investigators)
•    Experience with scientific writing and formatting, and manuscript submission process
•    Strong knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams 
•    To qualify, applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and should not require now, or in the future, sponsorship for employment visa status.
