Minimum Required Education & Experience 
  • High School Diploma and 1-year security, monitoring or other related experience with lead experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) Certification.
  • AED (Automated External Defibrillator) Certification.
Skills & Abilities
  • Basic knowledge of policies and procedures related to RTI security.
  • Basic knowledge of policies and procedures concerning CBI (Confidential Business Information), DoD and other industrial security plans
  • Basic knowledge of FCC rules concerning radio transmission. 
  • Basic knowledge of fire safety procedures. 
  • Basic knowledge of local, state and federal regulations as they relate to RTI business activities .
  • Basic skill in using all security, safety and medical equipment carried on RTI security vehicles, including fire extinguishers, first aid kits, AED (Automated External Defibrillator), jumper cables, portable radios, etc.
  • Ability to comprehend and apply verbal and written guidelines, including Institute and departmental policies and procedures, RTI Emergency Plan, Safety Manual and Security Directives.
  • Ability to write clear, accurate, legible and comprehensive Incident Reports.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with RTI staff, clients and the general public.
  • Ability to reason and make judgments quickly in emergency situations.
  • Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with supervisor, co-workers and other RTI staff.
  • Valid North Carolina Driver’s License.
  • Security clearance; no felony charges.
  • CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)/AED (Automated External Defibrillator) certification; annual re-certification is require.
  • Individual must be able to work in adverse and difficult emergency medical situations, which may involve exposure to human blood and other body fluids.
