The Senior Accounting System Professional is a key business partner to a variety of functions across the organization and requires Deltek Costpoint system knowledge and a proven track record for customer service, strategic thinking, and teaming. The Senior Accounting System Professional will be part of an existing Accounting team that is responsible for managing Costpoint to successfully complete monthly and year-end accounting closes. 
  • Participate in Costpoint system enhancements, user acceptance testing and updates.
  • Partner with ITS department to identify, communicate, and resolve Costpoint issues across various functional areas such as Treasury, AP, Billing, and project setup.
  • Maintain external and internal knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, and best practices related to Costpoint functionality and processes.
  • Manage set-up of indirect cost pools, orgs, reorgs, projects, intercompany work orders, general ledger accounts.  
  • Support month-end and year-end accounting close and processing. 
  • Performs reconciliations and other procedures to ensure Costpoint data is accurate and complete.
  • Produce and reconcile internal management financial reports.  
  • Oversee monthly intercompany invoicing to subsidiaries and segments. 
  • Develop internal reports using Cognos reporting software. 
  • Support cross-functional business improvement initiatives.
  • Lead or support special projects as assigned. 
  • As needed, support Financial Reporting Systems team or General Accounting on tasks such as approving journal entries.
  • Document policies and processes.  

Minimum Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business; Certified Public Accountant preferred
  • At least 10 years of relevant professional experience including eight years of Costpoint experience in a multi-company, currency, and government accounting segment environment; Costpoint experience should expand over multiple functional areas (General Ledger, Projects, AP, AR, Billing, etc.); 

Skills & Abilities
  • Familiarity with US GAAP.
  • Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple assignments and deliver high quality work in a timely manner.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel.
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to work well with others and build consensus on decisions impacting multiple RTI organizations.
  • Ability to listen and communicate well both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Detailed oriented and self-starter
  • Strong interpersonal skills; must be able to forge strong relationships with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of leading presentations at all levels of the institute. 
  • Ability to develop, maintain and manage good partnerships, customer relationships and service levels.
