Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with Master’s degree or 8 years with Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject area of instructional design, organizational development and learning, facilitation of training.
  • Demonstrated familiarity of adult learning methodologies and processes. 
  • Demonstrated familiarity with at least one of the following technical areas: USAID’s program cycle guidance (ADS 200 series), A&A management (ADS 300 series), knowledge of legal/budget/financial management in the USAID context; A&A business process for USG, and Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
  • Specialization in at least one of the following program cycle elements: strategic planning, project design, activity design and implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E), Collaborating, Learning and Adapting (CLA).
  • Experience working as SME for training/event design, development, and/or revision.
  • Experience in planning and facilitating training, retreats and/or events at all levels within an organization or governmental agency.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Experience and knowledge of different cultures and diversity training; preferably experience in international development sector.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of products including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Experience with multiple methods of facilitating courses and/or events (e.g. in-person, e-learning, webinar, etc.) highly preferred.
  • Previous experience with USAID in roles of program development officer, mission director, or contracting officer is a plus.

Work Location: The Consultant will need to travel to training locations within the Washington, DC area and overseas to USAID Missions. The Consultant will prepare for each training at his/her place of work or residence.

 

Timing: The Consultant’s assignment is for short-term and may vary based on the client’s need for trainings.  

Labor Rate of Pay: Final rate will be negotiated based on relevant/related salary history.
