Currently, we are seeking to add an Associate Director/Director of Value Insights and Access Strategy to the Health Economics team.


In this role you will develop innovative strategies and plans for proactively communicating health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) data with internal and external pharmaceutical, biotechnology, device and diagnostic stakeholders.


  • Develop and perform global strategic payer research to include, but not limited to: one-on-one qualitative interviews, advisory board meetings (virtual and in-person), Delphi panels, pricing and price value mapping, and multi-criteria decision analysis (MCDA)
  • Identify and work collaboratively with leading experts in the fields of HEOR to develop innovative evidence generation strategies and high-quality deliverables for maximizing the impact of RTI-HS research with health care industry stakeholders.
  • Generate, synthesize, and communicate critical pathway and HEOR landscape assessments and roadmaps, evidence generation strategies, payer insights and develop and test value propositions for emerging medical technologies
  • Conduct health economics and outcomes research such as literature reviews, advisory boards/workshops, and development of payer toolkits to support market access/payer communication
  • Coordinate and support country-specific market access strategies for new and existing pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, and diagnostic products
  • Manage, implement, and deliver high-quality deliverables to agreed timelines and budgets
  • Responsible for preparation, delivery, and presentation of high-quality proposals, technical reports, slide set presentations, conference abstracts, manuscripts, and other deliverables
  • Lead and support business development initiatives build awareness and acquire research opportunities
  • Communicate effectively (via email, telephone, and in-person) with clients and team members regarding projects and proposals
  • Continue to build scientific stature through publication in peer-reviewed journals and conference symposia


  • Advanced degree (e.g., PharmD, Masters, PhD, MD) and a minimum of 3 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry and/or in a market access and reimbursement consulting agency
  • Experience and strong understanding of HEOR, HTA processes, pricing and reimbursement landscape in major global markets
  • Experience in generating and synthesizing payer insights and developing and testing value propositions for emerging health technologies
  • Working knowledge of latest healthcare trends and environmental influences along with market access, payer, and reimbursement services
  • Credibility as a strategic market access and reimbursement researcher
  • Significant project experience pertaining to market access and reimbursement in the US and ex-US markets
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytic skills with the capability of applying that knowledge
  • Excellent writing skills and the ability to communicate and present complex information in a straightforward manner
  • Experience/familiarity with primary data collection studies; analysis of health care claims, registries, or survey data from the outcomes perspective; cost-effectiveness and budget impact modeling using decision modeling approaches such a Markov and simulation; and cost-of-illness studies would be an advantage
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Excel

Physical and mental demands of this role include those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, as outlined above.  Examples include:  remaining in a stationary position for long periods of time; operating a computer and other office machinery; thinking, learning, and concentrating effectively and frequently communicating with other people, both within RTI and outside of RTI; frequently moving about inside and travel between offices and laboratories; frequently conducting laboratory site inspections (if applicable), ability to handle the stress associated in meeting frequent, multiple and tight deadlines, ability to work in excess of 40 hours per week as workload and deadlines may require, consistent demonstration of mental stability and ability to have regular, reliable and predictable attendance.
