  • A PhD in Statistics, Mathematics, Health Economics, Biostatistics, or a related field with at least 5+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, contract research, or related area OR Master’s degree in one of the aforementioned fields and a minimum of 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, contract research, or related area
  • Proven consultancy/industry-based experience in at least one of the following areas:
    • Design an application of health economic analysis, particularly network meta-analyses and survival analysis. 
    • Conducting retrospective data analyses, prospective analyses linked to clinical trials, utility assessment and quality of life studies. 
    • Experience in supporting submissions to reimbursement and regulatory agencies such as NICE, SMC, and US managed care would be a distinct advantage
  • A proven academic record through peer-reviewed publication and conference presentation
  • Formal training or extensive experience in Bayesian analyses (using R or WinBUGS) methodologies and up to date knowledge of the latest methodological advances in this discipline
  • Extensive experience in the design and application of network meta-analytics and survival analysis in the context of HTAs (ideally in the pharmaceutical industry, a contract research organization or clinical environment). Knowledge of treatment switching and/or analysis of single arm trials an advantage.
  • Extensive knowledge of HTA requirements for the UK, Germany, Australia and/or Canada
  • Demonstrated experience leading projects, or statistical efforts within projects
  • Extensive programming experience with statistical packages, particularly R, and WinBUGS, SAS and/or STATA

Physical and mental demands of this role include those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, as outlined above.  Examples include:  remaining in a stationary position for long periods of time; operating a computer and other office machinery; thinking, learning, and concentrating effectively and frequently communicating with other people, both within RTI and outside of RTI; frequently moving about inside and travel between offices and laboratories; frequently conducting laboratory site inspections (if applicable), ability to handle the stress associated in meeting frequent, multiple and tight deadlines, ability to work in excess of 40 hours per week as workload and deadlines may require, consistent demonstration of mental stability and ability to have regular, reliable and predictable attendance.
