RTI-Health Solutions provides scientifically rigorous research and consulting services to pharmaceutical, biotech and medical device companies. Our research and consulting services focus on health economics and outcomes research. Our various practice areas include: Health Economics, Patient Reported Outcomes, Pharmacoepidemiology, Drug Safety and Pharmacovigilance, Market Access and Outcomes Strategy, Biostatistics, Clinical Services and Health Preference Assessment.

 

We are currently seeking a Senior Database Analyst to work in our Research Triangle Park location

  

In this role, you will conduct health and economic outcomes studies such as burden-of-illness, treatment patterns, medication use, and clinical outcomes using healthcare claims/electronic medical record (EMR) datasets such as MarketScan Commercial Claims and Encounters database, MedMining (linked claims and EMR from Geisinger), PharMetrics/Lifelink, Medicare and Medicaid data, SEER-Medicare Linked Database, Clinical Practice Research Datalink (CPRD), and The Health Improvement Network (THIN)

 
Responsibilities:
  •  Manage, implement, and deliver high quality scientific projects to agreed timelines and budgets under direction of more senior staff
  • Organize data and construct analytic datasets from complex data sources using SAS

  • Develop statistical analysis plans and conduct analysis of data according to project-specified protocols

  • Write reports and proposals

  • Communicate with clients and team members regarding projects and proposals

  • Continue to build scientific stature through publication in peer-reviewed journals and conference symposia

  • Present project findings to clients and at professional conferences

  • Communicate effectively (via email, telephone, and in-person) with clients and team members

 

 

 

Qualifications

 

  • PhD in economics, health economics, statistics, biostatistics, mathematics, or a related field with experience in analyzing large, administrative, US health care claims data (i.e.,  data from commercial insurers or government programs such as Medicare) OR a Master’s degree in one of the aforementioned fields and a minimum of 3 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry, contract research, or related area in which the candidate has analyzed large, administrative US health care claims data

  • Demonstrated interest in health care research or the pharmaceutical industry

  • Current experience in manipulating, cleaning, and conducting analyses of large administrative claims data  using SAS statistical software package and reporting of results

  • Experience conducting targeted searches of health care literature

  • Demonstrated ability to work well independently and as part of a team

  • Publications demonstrating the analysis of large administrative health care claims data to understand health care issues

  • Excellent analytical and communication skills (both written and oral) and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced multitasking environment
